Teaching
My approach of wearing “many hats” in life stems from reading Richard David Precht’s book Wer bin ich — und wenn ja, wie viele? (Who Am I? And If So, How Many?). As a teacher, this philosophy resonates deeply in my approach to education, where I embrace the multifaceted roles required to support and inspire students. At times, I am a guide, helping students navigate complex concepts and develop problem-solving skills. At others, I am a mentor, providing encouragement and fostering their individual growth. I also take on the role of a collaborator, learning alongside my students and creating an environment of mutual respect and shared discovery. Beyond the classroom, I act as an advocate, connecting students with resources and opportunities that align with their aspirations. These roles reflect my belief that teaching transcends the mere transmission of knowledge by fostering self-reflection and critical thinking as integral components of the learning process. The specific core elements of this teaching approach are summarized in Chart 1, which encompasses my motivations (Why I Teach), curriculum focus (What I Teach), instructional strategies (How I Teach), and evaluation methods (How I Measure My Effectiveness).
